I love hymns. I think they bring the Scriptures to life, and words set to music tend to be more remember-able. There are so many obscure texts that are about to explode with Biblical truth that it would be a shame not to share them. If you can't get enough here, poke around on Net Hymnal.

One hymn for each day from Ash Wednesday to Easter!

Ah, Holy Jesus, How Hast Thou Offended?
A Lamb Goes Uncomplaining Forth
All Glory, Laud, & Honor
And Can It Be?
 Awake, My Heart, with Gladness
Christ Is Risen!
Christ Is Risen! Christ Is Risen!
Christ Jesus Lay in Death's Strong Bands
Christ the Lord Is Risen Today
Come, Ye Saints, Look Here and Wonder
The Day of Resurrection
Ere Yet the Dawn Has Filled the Skies
Father, Forgive, the Savior Said
Hallelujah! Christ Is Risen
Hallelujah! Jesus Lives!
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Hearts to Heaven and Voices Raise
He Rose! O Morn of Wonder!
How Calm and Beautiful the Morn
In the Cross of Christ I Glory
It Is Finished! Man of Sorrows
Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross
Low in Thine Agony
O Come and Mourn with Me
One Day
On This Morn We See the Dawning
Rock of Ages
See Him in Raiment Rent
Stretched on the Cross, the Savior Dies
Sweet the Moments, Rich in Blessing
This Joyful Eastertide
Throned Upon the Awful Tree
Tis Finished! The Messiah Dies
Wake, Sweetest Strain of Music
We Worship Thee, O Crucified
What Will You Do with Jesus?
When I Survey the Wondrous Cross
Worship Christ, the Risen King
Ye Humble Souls that Seek the Lord
Ye That Pass By, Behold the Man

  1. Thank you for acknowledging the beauty of hymns. They have such a rich heritage and meaning and don't get sung very much. Thanks for the great list.

  2. I love the old hymns but I love much of the newer contemporary christian music also.
